The name الأخبار (Al-Akhbar), meaning “The News” in Arabic, was chosen to transform the traditional notion of news as a bearer of sorrow into a messenger of celebration and togetherness. With their unique fusion of traditional Arabic maqam and jazz, Al-Akhbar is reshaping the SWANA music scene, pushing boundaries, and offering a fresh perspective on cultural expression.
