The Hyde Art Gallery and the Grossmont College Ceramics Program present VIEWPOINT: Ceramics 2026, a juried exhibition that continues a landmark ceramics series first established in 1977. Returning for Spring 2026, VIEWPOINT brings together artists working across Southern California and beyond, offering a timely look at how ceramic practice is being shaped today. While grounded in the history of the original exhibitions shown at the Hyde between 1977 and 2006, this iteration reflects the evolving concerns, materials, and approaches of contemporary artists. The works on view range from sculptural and vessel-based forms to conceptually driven projects that engage process, surface, and narrative.
This particular iteration of VIEWPOINT: Ceramics will be showcased in Grossmont College’s new Hyde Art Gallery, housed within the state-of-the-art Performing & Visual Arts Center. Recognized as one of the region’s premier venues for contemporary art, the gallery provides a refined, light-filled setting that enhances the presentation of each piece. Exhibiting here offers artists exceptional professional exposure, situating their work within a dynamic cultural hub that draws audiences from across the community and beyond.
