“Disreputable Women: Black Sex Economies and the Making of San Diego'“ is a book about how sex-working Black women make place and community in a city that sought to criminalize, incarcerate and dehouse them in order to make the city appear white. The book looks at downtown redevelopment processes in the 20th century.
